Top Band attached, Kilt Pressed

Attaching the top band was straightforward but time consuming; half of the process can theoretically be done on a sewing machine, but mine isn’t rugged enough to handle stitching through several layers of heavy denim, so I sewed both front and back by hand.

Suddenly, it looks a whole lot more like a finished garment.

Pressing the kilt was also a nice finishing step - the pleats are nice and sharp and it looks like something somewhat wearable. The sewn pleats along the fell are a bit more wrinkly than they should be… I suspect I pulled some of the steeking stiches too tight.

Buckles, Straps, and lining up next.
